This committee coordinates all the outreach activities for Holy Spirit Parish, including our involvement with Casa de Luz, a house of worship located in the neighborhood known as the "Naked City" -- one of Las Vegas' most challenged areas. It also sponsors the weekly food collection, other "drives" for winter clothes, school supplies, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter food baskets, Christmas toy drive, etc.

9 Tapestries for Holy Spirit Church:
by renowned artist, John Nava
John Nava, a renowned California artist, has made the 25 beautiful tapestries, "Communion of Saints", for the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. He has been commissioned to make tapestries for Holy Spirit Catholic Church. These tapestries are "The Stations of the Holy Spirit" which devotion has been created by Fr. Bill Kenny. "The Stations of the Holy Spirit" are based on 8 different "movements" of the Holy Spirit in the Old and New Testaments. They will be displayed on the inside perimeter walls. A ninth tapestry will be behind the altar and will also serve as the backdrop for the Processional Cross; it depicts the mountains to the west of the Holy Spirit property at Mesa Park and Russell. Like the tapestries in the Los Angeles cathedral, wherever people are placed in a tapestry, real living models, male and female, have been used. These tapestries, like the Cathedral tapestries, are manufactured in Belgium.

4. Stations 5 ("The Holy Spirit descends upon Jesus at his Baptism"), 7 ("The Holy Spirit brings spiritual fruit") and 8 ("The Holy Spirit ushers the dead into Eternal Life" are still in working stages in John Nava's studio in Ojai, California.
